—a concerned citizen visits her Congressman to describe how a lake is being polluted.
...and there is the bad kind of lobbyist...
—a person whose sole aim is to enrich himself visits a Congresswoman and, through deceit or bribery, attempts to get her to put his interests above those of the people she represents.
The first person's lobbying is the kind of citizen activism necessary to the survival of a democracy. The second's is sufficient to destroy it.
